Our Trip to Hyderabad in December 2015

Pune to Hyderabad Trip with family

It was one of the memorable trip I had with my family in December 2015. As we had holidays in Christmas week the dates were fixed however we were not sure about the location. We wanted to visit a place which we could travel by road transport and should make our trip enjoyable and not hectic :-).

After long debate we came to conclusion to visit Hyderabad.  As per information we got, there were 2 different opinions about Hyderabad city. Few said there is nothing much to visit there and you can cover everything in 2 days and there were others who said it would take at least 5 days to cover everything in Hyderabad. As our duration was already fixed for 3 days, we decided to plan the spots that we can target in these 3 days. After lot of research (thanks to google) and few of my friends who had stayed in Hyderabad earlier we came up with 3 days schedule.

Hyderabad:

Hyderabad is the capital of southern India’s Telangana state. The city of smiles, of lights, of a thousand faces, endearingly called the Pearl City, Hyderabad offers a variety of tourist attractions ranging from Heritage monuments, Lakes and Parks, Gardens and Resorts, Museums to delectable cuisine and a delightful shopping experience.

Distance:

Distance between Pune to Hyderabad is around 560 km.

Recommended Min And Max stay:

Minimum 3 full days are required to visit some of the best places in Hyderabad and it takes around 6 days to cover everything.

Route And time Taken to Travel:

It takes around 9 hrs  to reach Hyderabad city if you are travelling at night. The road to Hyderabad is via Solapur. Pune to solapur is around 250 km and it takes around 4 yrs to reach Solapur. The road is very impressive and you need to pay toll of around 250/- . The road from solapur to Hyderabad is not that good and road construction for new lanes is under progress.

We started from Hadapsar, Pune around 9 PM in innova..  Weather was nice. We took first halt at tembhurni for tea.  I would recommend you test the road side tea from tea stall(near St stand).  We then took couple of halts and continued our journey. We reached Hyderabad around 6 AM. Metro work in Hyderabad is going in full swing. We saw many metro bridges after entering the city. We reached to our rooms at around 7 AM.

Spot to Visit in 3 days:

  • Birla Temple
  • Birla Science Museum
  • Hussain Sagar lake
  • Lumbini Park
  • Laser Show
  • Ramoji Film City (1 day)
  • Charminar
  • Salajan museum
  • Nehru Zoological Park
  • Snow World

Day 1:

On day 1 we decided to Visit Birla Temple, Birla science museum ,Hussain sagar lake, Lumbini Park and Laser show.

We reached Birla science museum around 10 AM. Got ticket from ticket counter. Its was 75/- per adult. It took around 2.5 hrs to see the museum. It’s wonderful especially for kids. Then we had lunch in near by Hotel. After that we went to see Birla temple. You  need to climb little bit to go to temple. From there we went to Lumbini park. Again there is entry ticket. Then we had boating in Hussain sagar lake. The Laser show tickets are available from 6: 30 PM onward everyday and shows starts at 7:15 PM. The show was really awesome. After show we had dinner and reached room.

Day 2:
On day 2 we had a plan to visit Ramoji film city.

Ramoji film city is at outskirts of Hyderabad around 30-35 km from city. It takes complete day to cover everything in Ramoji film city. Tickets were 1000/- for adult and 900/- for kids as there was winter carnival going on. We reached ramoji film city at 9.15 AM and left RFC around 7 PM. After that we had dinner at Paradise Hotel famous for Hyderabadi biryanni.

On Day 3 we had plan to return to Pune in the evening so got ready and packed our luggage. We decided to visit Charminar , Salajan museum and Nehru Zoological Park.

We reached charminar around 10 AM then went to Salarjan museum and from there to Nehru park. Salar jang museum takes a day to see everything but we managed to spend only 2-3 hrs there. There was lot of crowd that day due to long weekend. Finally we reached Zoo and crowd followed us(or can say we followed crowd). Even there crowd was huge and no place for parking. We saw the zoo in battery operated vehices.

Around 6 PM we started from Hyderabd city and took halt for tea. From there started our return journey to pune and reached Pune around 4: 30 AM.All in all a very memorable trip.
